Identities and Display Name
Display Name is your general purpose internet alias. It is usually a call sign that you use outside of games for forums, messengers and the other services. Your internet alias usually transcends your in-game nick unless you use the same name inside games as you do outside of them.

How to choose a Display Name
Display Name is defined when creating your account and cannot be changed later, which is why it is important that you choose to use your internet alias rather than a "temporary" gaming nick.

What are Identities?
If you use a different name when you're gaming with your friends and the community then you can make use of the Identities on this website. An identity is based on a game and represents your character in that game, making it easy for your fellow guild mates or clan mates to identify you on the community website.

When creating an Identity, it gets added to your own personal list of identities and you can then choose to have a specific identity attached to your user, displaying the character name (race and class, if available) throughout the website.

Creating a new identity is easy:
  1. Go to your Settings at the top left of the website.
  2. Select the page from the settings menu: Identity > Create Identity
  3. Click on a game-specific template.
  4. Fill in your character info.
(Some templates allow you to search through the game database to find your character and get the info automatically)
  5. Click finish and your new identity is created.
After creating an identity it gets added to your identity list. This list can also serve as a record of your many gaming nicks or character alts. Your list of identities will be visible on your user page that you can reach by clicking your own name or avatar.

In order to use one of your identities as your primary identity on the website, check the box next to the character name.

If you would like us to add a specific template, go to the Suggestions forum and let us know about it.
